One of the city’s most striking buildings, the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall, is right on the bank of the river estuary in Bilbao. This concrete, glass and iron building is an icon of Bilbao’s architecture of the 21st century.
Opened in 1999, it was designed in weathering steel by the architects Federico Soriano and Dolores Palacios as a symbol of the last vessel built at the former Euskalduna shipyards, which stood on this site for decades. It today offers a full programme of concerts, opera and theatre.
